Established under the Kenya Information and Communications Act, the Authority facilitates the development of broadcasting, telecommunications, and postal services while safeguarding the interests of all stakeholders in the digital economy.

Establishment of the Authority
The Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) established under the Kenya Communications Act, marking the beginning of formal ICT regulation in Kenya.

Liberalisation & Competition
Kenya's telecommunications sector opened to competition, with CCK managing the transition and new licence issuances for multiple operators.
